If artwork is considered a measurement, it may be said that Phu Yen is not inferior to other regional provinces. Photographic activities in Phu Yen province have flourished with joyful signs, promising successes for both professional and amateurish photographers in the province.

Phu Yen province’s photography is evaluated as a colorful picture by experts. Especially, in 2013, photography has lots of achievements with significant boost. Phu Yen provincial photographers have actively entered the 18th Artwork Festival in South Central region and Central Highlands in 2013 held by the collaboration of Vietnam Photographic Artist Association and the Provincial Literature and Art Association. In addition, Phu Yen provincial Photography Association coordinated with Binh Dinh provincial Photography Association to organize the Artwork exhibition on the 60th anniversary of Vietnam Traditional Photography and Film industry; collaborated with the Provincial Public Security successfully to hold the Contest of composing Artwork-Phu Yen Police press following Uncle Ho’s example, organized the contest of Nguyen Tieu beauty via art-photographs and awarded the prize-winners at Nguyen Tieu Traditional Poetry Festival.
With 3 artists admitted to the Federation of International Art Photography (FIAP), 4 members of Vietnam Photography Artist Association, 34 members in the Photography Association of the Provincial Literature and Art Association, the number photographers in Phu Yen province is quite vibrant and obviously confirmed in not only the quantity but also the quality. Thereby, Phu Yen provincial photography has been known for many members constantly gaining medals at international artwork contests.
Photographic artist Duong Thanh Xuan, Head of Vietnam Association of Art Photographers in Phu Yen, let known: “Through years of working in photograph, I have communicated with many domestic and international composing-groups visiting and working in Phu Yen province, who utter at Phu Yen’s beauty with so many resources to take photos. Phu Yen photographers winning numerous awards in national and international contests need not go anywhere else out of Phu Yen province. Each year, Phu Yen’s authors achieve awards or have works displayed in regional and international exhibitions”.
Among the photographers in Phu Yen province, artist photographer Le Chau Dao is the one owning the most medals. In 2013, Dao achieved 54 awards both domestically and internationally with his unique photos. However, when talking about young photographers in Phu Yen province, Le Chau Dao praised: “Young photographers now have been very good. They have different trends; many of them do not only exploit sharply into the human images but also landscapes, which also has its own beauty. Some others also follow the style of Le Chau Dao but not going into existing trail. I realize their pictures are so much excellent. Sometimes I want to do so but I can’t”.
