(CPV) - Mr Murray McCully, New Zealand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, on March 26 officially launched a tourism competition titled “New Zealand, New horizon” during his visit to Vietnam.

Organised jointly by the Embassy of New Zealand in Vietnam and VNExpress online newspaper, this nationwide competition will run for three weeks, and features as a grand prize an all-expenses paid trip for two to New Zealand, organised by Saigontourist.

Participants will describe their sense of New Zealand in the most creative way possible, covering its people, unique culture, education, exciting adventure, fresh food, spectacular natural landscape, cosmopolitan cities or any other New Zealand item that impresses them the most. The entries can be in words, photo or video and will be uploaded onto VNExpress website.

New Zealand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs also announced the appointment of well-known Vietnamese personality, Ms Jennifer Pham, as the New Zealand Embassy’s Honorary Tourism Envoy in Vietnam for 2014.

Ms Jennifer Pham will travel to this nation in June to get a 100% Pure New Zealand Tourism experience and will share her New Zealand stories with Vietnamese audience.

“New Zealand is renowned internationally as a tourism destination, attracting millions of tourists from around the world each year. The number of Vietnamese tourists going to New Zealand has been increasing in recent years, but it is still an emerging destination – a New Horizon, for most Vietnamese”, said Mr Haike Manning, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam.

As scheduled, New Zealand will participate as a “special guest” country in Vietnam’s largest travel fair (Vietnam International Travel Mart) to be held in Hanoi from 3-6 April./.
