PM Dung made that statement at his reception for EU Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht on March 17.

Viet Nam-EU relationship has been promoted in recent times, said the PM, adding that the completion of the FTA negotiations will bring practical benefits for both.

He hoped that the EU will take into consideration the development and benefits of Viet Nam, especially Vietnamese products such as agricultural products, seafood, garment and footwear in the negotiation round.

The PM suggest the EU soon recognize Viet Nam as a full market economy.

Mr. Karel De Gucht appraised development in the two sides’ trade and investment cooperation and positive results in the past FTA negotiations, confirming that the EU will closely work with Viet Nam to negotiate the Agreement.

The FTA negotiation between Viet Nam and the EU was first launched in June 2012.
