The northern province of Yen Bai has moved around 60 per cent of families living in the dangerous places, equivalent to 1,400 households, to resettlement areas.
It said another 800 families remain in such places and need to be moved before the onset of the storm season this year.

Denmark supports private enterprises
The Danish Embassy in Ha Noi said it would continue with a programme to support private firms in Viet Nam, especially those operating in the food safety and green technology sectors.
The programme began in 2007 and has so far assisted 300 projects.

Binh Duong Province to redraw its map
The southern province of Binh Duong last week announced a plan to create a new town called Ben Cat from the district of the same name.
The town will comprise My Phuoc town and the communes of Thoi Hoa, Tan Dinh, Hoa Loi, Chanh Phu Hoa, An Dien, Phu An, and An Tay.
The remaining areas of Ben Cat District will be renamed Bau Bang District.
Three towns in Tan Uyen District — Uyen Hung, Tan Phuoc Khanh, and Thai Hoa — and nine communes will be combined to form Tan Uyen town. The remaining areas will become North Tan Uyen District.
