The 2014 Worker Month was launched on April 27 in Dai An industrial park (Hai Duong city) with the participation of nearly 1,000 workers and laborers.
The Hai Duong Provincial Labor Confederation on the morning of April 27 launched the 2014 Worker Month in Dai An industrial park (Hai Duong city) with the participation of nearly 1,000 workers and laborers.
Mr. Le Thanh Van, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, attended the event.
With the motto of heading towards the grassroots level and taking it as the area of operation, the provincial Labor Confederation assigned grassroots trade unions to organize many practical activities during this year’s Worker Month.
The whole province will:
- intensify propaganda and hold intensive and extensive learning and political activity courses among unionists, focusing on the contents of Resolution 20-NQ/TW of the Party’s 10th Central Committee on “Further building the Vietnamese working class in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization“;
- hang slogans propagandizing the Worker Month from April 27 to May 30 at agencies, units, and enterprises;
- strengthen activities to look after and protect legitimate rights of workers, civil servants, and laborers; build harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
Trade unions at all levels should:
- actively propagandize unionist development and set up grassroots trade unions in the non-State economic sector;
- establish at least three grassroots trade unions with 20 or more workers and laborers in the Worker Month;
- promptly praise and honor examples with outstanding achievements in production;
- care about organizing cultural, arts, and sports activities to improve the spiritual life and health of workers and laborers, etc.
At the launching ceremony, the provincial Labor Confederation awarded certificates of merit to 10 typical workers and laborers with excellent achievements in production in 2013; presented five “trade union shelters” (VND30 million/ house) and 15 gifts to disadvantaged workers and laborers; and offered gifts to five nursery schools which many children of workers and laborers were attending.
On this occasion, the provincial Labor Confederation also launched message sending to support the program “Sentimental attachment to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa”, free legal counseling for workers and laborers, etc.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Thanh Van asked levels of Party committees and trade unions to pay more attention to worker movements and trade union activities for an efficient Worker Month and strengthen leadership, direction, and coordination with each other to promote worker caring and protecting activities.
The organization of the Worker Month must be practical, specific, and suitable to the condition of each company, enterprise.
Workers and laborers should also enhance solidarity; actively learn and train to heighten professional qualifications and skills to meet the requirements of the acceleration period of industrialization and modernization; exemplarily observe laws and enterprises’ regulations; be active in production and produce many creations to raise income and contribute to enterprises’ development, etc.
