April 14, 2014 – The two cities of Hoi An and Taiyuan (Shanxi Province, China) established cooperative relations in September 2014. They signed an 8-point official document on cooperating in tourism development on April 11, 2014.
Accordingly, they will collaborate in promoting each other on their websites, organizing familiarization tours, exchanging related experiences, etc. The People’s Committee of Hoi An City announced that total tourist arrival to the city reached nearly 285,500 in the first quarter of 2014. Of which, the number of Chinese tourists has been considerably increased thanks to the city’s new cooperating program with Taiyuan City of China.
