Many localities have held meetings with the soldiers directly fighting at Dien Bien Phu battlefield, launched the contest “Dien Bien Memories“, etc.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Nam Sach district War Veterans’ Association (WVA) (Hai Duong) has coordinated with the district Military Command to hold a meeting with the soldiers who directly fought at Dien Bien Phu battlefield and are still alive in the area.
The district WVA has also chosen 13 people to attend a get-together to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory at provincial level scheduled for May 6.
Nam Sach district currently has 100 soldiers directly fighting at Dien Bien Phu battlefield.
* WVAs at all levels in Thanh Ha district have intensified propaganda and education activities about the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu to all officials, members, and people in the district.
The district association has launched the writing contest “Dien Bien Memories” to all members; held exchanges and traditional talks between the war veterans taking part in Dien Bien Phu Campaign and the pupils of primary and junior high schools in the district.
On this occasion, WVAs in the district’s communes and district town have organized meetings, gift presentation, and exchanges with Dien Bien soldiers. The associations have also organized visits to the old battlefield for the members who are typical Dien Bien soldiers.
The district WVA expects to hold a gathering and present gifts to the soldiers directly participating in the campaign on May 5.
The whole district still has 180 people directly involved in Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
