The closing program included a Vietnamese traditional ao dai show, don ca tai tu music performances and lively scene of a traditional wedding ceremony in the Mekong Delta.
The six-day event attracted more than 300,000 tourists, according to the festival organizers.
The Don ca tai tu southern traditional music festival is scheduled to occur every three years.
Thu Dau Mot Town in Ho Chi Minh City’s neighboring province of Binh Duong will be the venue for the second one in 2007.
