According to the latest report from the HCM City Center of Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labour Market Information, the city will need 20,000 workers in June, 5,000 of them at export processing zones and industrial parks.
Much of the demand will be in the trading, marketing, accounting-audit, services, information technology, electrical-electronic-telecommunication sectors.
The city labour market continues to be unbalanced in terms of both quality and quantity in fields requiring skilled workers.

VN exports 2m tonnes of rice
The Viet Nam Food Association has reported that the country exported 108,898 tonnes of rice in the first half of this month, taking exports for the year to 1.932 million tonnes and turnover to US$845.38 million.
The export price has fallen from $462.79 per tonne in the first half of April to $441.51.

Consultant offers five plans for HCM City
Transport Investment and Construction Consultant Joint Stock Company has proposed five alternative plans for the upgrade of the Binh Loi rail bridge in HCM City to ensure traffic smoothness and safety.
They include upgrading and converting the bridge into a swing bridge, upgrading and raising it partially or wholly, building a new bridge and either keeping or not keeping Binh Trieu Railway Station unchanged.

Gov’t green lights husbandry sector revamp
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Area Development has approved a project to revamp animal husbandry with a focus on value addition and stable development.
It envisages decreasing the share of pork from 74.2 per cent last year to 62 per cent by 2020, and increasing poultry from 17.3 per cent to 28 per cent.
