The Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (Samco) has put into use a 10-level building where 1,000 cars and 500-800 motorbikes can be parked at a time on Vo Van Kiet Boulevard in HCM City’s District 1.
The parking lot covering more than 32,000 sq.m has nine levels for parking and a ground floor for maintenance and washing services. It is equipped with five elevators for carrying vehicles and three others for customers use.
Besides the 10-level parking lot, HCM City has a five-story parking lot financed by a private company in Tan Phu District. This facility holds 1,500 cars and 1,500 motorbikes.

National Highway to be widened
A 9.35 km section of National Highway 1 that runs from Son Tinh to Tu Nghia District of the central province of Quang Ngai will be widened. Construction of the project will cost VND428billion (US$20.3 million), according to the province’s People’s Committee..

Dong Nai installs wastewater monitors
Dong Nai Province will spend more than VND36 billion (US$1.7 million) to install six more automatic monitors for industrial wastewater from now to the end of this year, according to the province’s Natural Resources and Environment Department. Giang Dien Industrial Park in Trang Bom District and Suoi Tre in Long Khanh District will be among the six industrial parks selected to have the monitors installed.
Since 2012, Dong Nai has invested more than VND77 billion ($3.75 million) to install 13 automatic wastewarter monitors at the province’s industrial parks. Five industrial parks have installed the automatic monitors with their own investment capital. The monitors have helped the province improve control pollution in the locality.

Bird flu vaccine will soon be available
A bird flu vaccine is expected to be available in the local market, following 10 years of research and human trials.
The vaccine is produced by researchers of the Vaccine and Biological Production Company No.1 in co-operation with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
The vaccine will protect people with the highest risk of H5N1 flu, including breeders and people who work at abattoirs.
