Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Duong provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, on the morning of May 23 inspected the prevention and control of floods and storms, search, rescue, and agricultural production in Thanh Ha district and Hai Duong city. Accompanying him was Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Anh Cuong.
In Thanh Ha district, after checking the current status of broken banks in Thanh Lang commune and the development of spring rice in Cam Che commune and thieu litchis in Viet Hong Commune, the provincial People’s Committee Chairman required the district to strengthen the prevention of illegal exploitation of river-bed sand and gravel, which affects the safety of dyke works, and early review dyke problems to take measures for urgent and timely handling before the rainy season.
The breaks in the banks in Thanh Lang and Lien Mac communes should be monitored regularly. The locality must prepare sufficient materials and means for timely settlement in case of bad happenings.
Regarding spring rice, localities in the district should build “one region, one variety, one time“.
The district should focus on instructing farmers in attention methods so that litchis will bring about high yield this year and assessing the effectiveness of the use of Neb fertilizer on the litchis, the model can be replicated if it is effective.
In Hai Duong city, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee asked the city to intensify the inspection of wharves and grounds’ business activities. Strict measures should be taken against the wharves and grounds yet to seriously move materials out of river grounds and lower the material loading height. The municipal Dyke Management Unit should concentrate on tackling dyke corridor violations, etc.
