Cyclists receive awards after the eighth stage of the An Giang tourney.
AN GIANG (VNS) — Tran Nguyen Duy Nhan passed yellow jersey holder Ha Thanh Tam to win the eighth stage of the Return to Countryside cycling tournament yesterday.
Nhan of Military Zone 7 was the only cyclist to win a stage after Tam from Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang Rice, who set up his domination with seven wins in a row.
The soldier completed the 92km race from Ha Tien Town to Chau Doc City in 2hr 24.35min.
Tam came second just a hair’s gap later. Nguyen Huu Tien of Vinh Long was third.
Tam, however, remains on top of the ranking table with the yellow jersey, clocking 19:45.08. Nhan is second, followed by Phan Hoang Thai from Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap.
In the team table, Military Zone 7 rank first, followed by An Giang and HCM City.
The annual event will wrap up today as riders travel 57.5km from Tan Chau Town to Phu Tan District. — VNS
