The Prime Minister on Monday ordered the Ministry of Transport and the Viet Nam Inland Waterways Administration to work closely with the Hai Duong Province People’s Committee to step up site clearance to pave the way for a World Bank-funded project to develop waterway transport in the Northern Delta.

The project, which began construction in 2011, is behind schedule because of slow site clearance. The project will cost more than US$200 million, with the World Bank providing a loan of US$170 million.
