JOHANNESBURG (VNS) – More South African importers are eyeing the Vietnamese tra fish, thanks to its quality and attractive prices.
Commercial Counsellor in South Africa Nguyen Hong Tien said this during an event to market this popular seafood in Johannesburg.
Chairwoman of the municipal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fay Mukaddam said that tra fish was a promising area for importers, who would enjoy all possible support from the government.
Ambassador Le Huy Hoang said that similar marketing events would take place in the large cities of Cape Town and Durban, with Vietnamese rice also being promoted.
Currently, Viet Nam produces more than 90 per cent of the world tra fish supply, with the US, the EU and Japan being its major markets.— VNS
