Conservationists released four stump-tailed macaques into their natural habitat in the north-central province of Nghe An, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported.
The four monkeys (Macaca arctoides) had been rescued from poachers in recent months and were being rehabilitated at the Pu Mat National Park’s Wildlife Rescue Center.
Three of the primates were taken to the center by Pu Mat Forest Rangers on February 1 and the other came from the Quy Chau Forest Rangers.
The Pu Mat National Park administration was established in 1996 and has since rescued thousands of wild animals seized from poachers and returned them to their natural habitats.
