The total broadcasting time for each match is around 175 – 180 minutes including first-half, second-half, extra time, advertisements, and commentary.

The broadcasting rights – covering television, radio, internet and mobile coverage – for the tournament are sold to media companies in each individual territory either directly by FIFA, or through licensed companies and organisations such as the European Broadcasting Union, Organización de Televisión Iberoamericana, International Media Content, Dentsu and RS International Broadcasting & Sports Management, MP&Silva…

Several territories and countries (such as India, Italy, Algeria, Korea Republic) are grouped, as they share common broadcasters, and in some cases, common geographic space.

Prices for the World Cup television rights in Vietnam have increased rapidly in recent tournaments. In 2006, FPT was able to purchase the rights for USD2 million, and then sold them to VTV, HTV and VTC.

Four year later, Japanese company Dentsu sold the package to VTV for USD4 million. However, VTV could not afford to pay with cash at that time so a broadcasting time deal was agreed with Dentsu./.
