(CPV) - For the very first time, Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in collaboration with Vietnam Women’s Union and five Korean social welfare organizations have organized a charitable program titled “Sharing happiness with the world’s roof 2014″ in Hanoi and Hai Duong province from June 24-26. Korean social welfare organizations are Daejeon Donggu Social Service Network, Korea Vision Association, Daejeon Donggu Happy-plus Network, Daeduk College Volunteer Association, and Social Welfare Business Academy 2nd. Organizers visited and presented 33 bicycles, clothes, learning tools for kids at Ha Cau Orphanage Centre in Ha Dong district (in Hanoi outskirts), five calves for rural households and 35 fans and 350 kg of rice for 35 families of leprosy patients in Chi Linh district (Hai Duong province) to a total cost of KRW10 million (about USD8,000). (Photo: Vu Oanh) The related parties also committed to maintain cultural and social welfare exchange activities between the two nations by signing an agreement with KCC, as well as connecting other international social welfare services to enhance the role of multi-national families and the rights of Vietnamese women who are married and living in Korea. Besides, KCC conducted art performances during the tour, helping Ha Cau Orphanage Centre members to understand more about aspects of Korean culture. According to KCC Director, Mr Park Nark Jong, in the future, KCC plans to connect other Korean social welfare organizations to Vietnam for charitable projects, thus improving the quality of life for Vietnamese people in need throughout the nation./. |
