(VOV) – Vietnamese head coach Chen Yun Fat officially ended his career with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in Hanoi on June 6.
Fat said that although he was reluctant to retire, he decided that this was the most suitable time to say farewell because of age considerations and his desire to spend more time with his family.
At the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Cup, Vietnam failed to win a ticket to World Cup 2015. Fat said that saddened him, and he wanted to say sorry again to Vietnamese fans.
He reminded the team to try with all efforts to play responsibly and honestly.
VFF General Secretary in turn said he highly appreciated the great contributions by the Chinese coach in recent times which helped the Vietnamese team advance in regional competition.
VFF is seeking a new coach for Vietnamese women football team, and a Japanese trainer is being considered.
Coach Fat began to lead Vietnamese team in 2007 and over the years he and his team had much success.
