Southern province spends over VND285 billion supporting 37 damaged enterprises

On June 18, the southern province of Binh Duong announced the first phase of support for enterprises that were damaged by disturbances in May. Accordingly, VND285.9 billion will be used to assist 37 seriously damaged enterprises.


According to Tran Van Nam, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, besides payments from the insurance sector, as authorised, the province has built up support policies for enterprises, with guidelines to provide the highest support possible.


Specifically, the province has exempted construction certificates for repair and upgrade to damaged property. Regarding the remaining cases, the province has allowed enterprises to design and commence construction before being granted construction certificates.



In terms of tax, enterprises’ tax profiles have been extended while their tax payment period will be lengthened by 2 years from the set deadline of tax payment, without fees for payment delay.


Moreover, enterprises will enjoy value added tax (VAT) deduction and refunding. They will also enjoy a reduction in special consumption tax, an exemption or reduction of land and infrastructure fees, and an exemption in import tax for goods used to repair and replace damaged and lost machines, devices and components.


Meanwhile, commercial banks in the province have committed to maintenance of signed credit limits; extending loan times from 3 to 6 months for enterprises; and reducing interest rates of between 0.5% and 2% for 28 enterprises with an outstanding balance of over VND290 billion.


Earlier, 113 enterprises in the province were advanced more than VND114 billion in damage insurance fees.


Le Thanh Cung, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, confirmed that support for enterprises will continue in different phases in the near future./.
