HA NOI (VNS) — Hanoi traffic police today identified a truck driver responsible for causing injury to about a dozen people as Nguyen Minh Tuan, 35, from Gia Lam District of Ha Noi.
The truck driver had driven a truck on Monday night that had reportedly spilled out a liquid suspected to be acid on the road, causing burns to nearly about a dozen people.
According to reports, around 6 pm on Monday, traffic police in the intersection of Trau Quy – National Highway 5, Gia Lam District, were informed by residents that a truck travelling near the area was carrying a type of dangerous liquid. The police ordered the truck to stop but it escaped towards the direction of Thanh Tri Bridge.
During the chase, the truck spilled out more liquid and injured at least a dozen people, two of whom were hospitalised later.
The truck driver pulled off the vehicle in a storage room nearby and escaped.
