(VOV) – More than 400 young intellectuals on August 1 gathered in Hanoi at the opening ceremony of Hackathon Vietnam 2014.
The event was attended by Nguyen Quan, Minister of Science and Technology, Joe Lonsdale,co-founder of Formation 8 and a famous investor from the Silicon Valley, the US and Professor Ngo Bao Chau.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan affirmed the contest offered an ideal place for young intellectuals to unleash theirpassion for innovation and enhance their connectivity capacity and teamwork skills.
More importantly, Quan said, the event can help them turn their passion for innovation into highly competitive world class products.Through the event, Vietnamese young intellectuals can send a message to the world that the Vietnam government has always facilitated the promotion of their innovations on science and technology.
The winner will have an opportunity to receive a trip to Silicon Valley while other valuable prizes will be presented to two winning teams.
The closing ceremony will be held in HCM City on August 2.
