PANO – A Book Festival, themed “Hanoi – the City for Peace”, will take place at the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre from September 26th to October 2nd, announced the city’s Department of Information and Communications at a press conference on August 20th.
Accordingly, the festival will showcase books with seven themes, namely “Present Thang Long-Hanoi”, “Books’ journey”, “President Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi Capital”, “General Vo Nguyen Giap and the heroic Vietnam People’s Army”, “National seas and islands”, “Discovering the world” and “Interesting and beautiful books”.
It also offers books at good prices, and participants will have a chance to learn more about Hanoi through seminars and exchanges with writers, particularly the ones born in the capital city in 1954.
The event is to mark the 60th anniversary of the city’s liberation and the 15th anniversary of Hanoi’s recognition as the “City for Peace” by the UNESCO, and to promote reading culture among people.
