HA NOI (VNS)- The Communist Party of Australia (CPA) wanted to enhance its ties with the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), General Secretary of the CPA, Bob Briton, said on his first visit to Viet Nam, which ends today.
In a meeting with the Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, Hoang Binh Quan, Briton gave an overview of the Communist Party of Australia and the position it holds.
He showed an interest in post-war reconstruction efforts and responses to climate change in Viet Nam.
Quan thanked the CPA for its active support for Viet Nam, both during the war and during the country’s development. He gave insights into CPV developments and preparations underway for the 12th National Party Congress.
He spoke of the support the CPA and the Australian people provided in the struggle for justice for Vietnamese AO victims and said it contributed to understanding between the two Parties.
Briton also declared that the CPA wanted to enhance relations with the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour and the Viet Nam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, during his working sessions with Dang Ngoc Tung and Nguyen Van Rinh, the presidents of the two organisations. – VNS
