In the morning of the first of August, the Vietnam Environment Administration and the delegates of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the framework of terminal evaluation of the project “Building national biodiversity database system” (NBDS) continued to have the meeting and eventually signed the terminal evaluation report on NBDS project.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Motohiro Hasegawa, the leader of the project evaluation team of Japanese side said that the team assessed the project’s results under the following criteria: a high degree of conformity with the national biodiversity policies and strategy; the necessity of Vietnam and Japan’s policy priorities;facilities and experts satisfying the requirements of the Project;achieving the objectives and ensuring the sustainability.
Mr Motohiro Hasegawaalso made recommendations and lessons learned of which, the database system of the project must be operated, maintained, propagated and disseminated in the mass media,…
Speaking at the meeting, Dr.Nguyen The Dong, Deputy Director General of Vietnam Environment Administration,Project Director, agreed with the assessment of the JICA delegates, and also expressed the desire to continue receiving the timely sharing of informationand the support of JICA to implement the project in the next stages in particular and promote cooperation in environmental protection in Vietnam in general.
Concluding at the meeting, Dr.Nguyen The Dong and representatives of the JICA signed the project’s documents and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Head of the Center for Information of the Vietnam Environment Administration General Office, representing a evaluation team in Vietnam side, signed the terminal evaluation report of the Project./.
