PANO – General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defence, and Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army , offered incense to late General Vo Nguyen Giap on his first death anniversary at his residence at 30 Hoang Dieu Street, Hanoi, on September 22nd.
They praised the great contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap to the national revolutionary cause and the development of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The late General’s family members were touched by the deep sentiment of the Army leaders and troops in the whole army towards General Giap.
The Minister of National Defence and representatives of General Giap’s family have worked out plans to support those who come from all places across the country to pay homage to the late General at his tomb in Vung Chua, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province.
General Phung Quang Thanh affirmed that the Ministry of National Defence would assist the General’s family to upgrade his old house, turning it into a grand place to welcome people to pay respect to him.
