(VOV) – Ho Chi Minh City and Cuba are established partners on a variety of fronts and the city is eager and willing to expand cooperation, elevating their traditional friendship and mutual trust to even greater heights.
The affirmation was made by Secretary of the HCM City municipal Party Committee Le Thanh Hai at a reception for visiting Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba Lazara Mercedes Lopez Acea on September 20.
Hai drew special attention to the traditional ties between the two Parties, States and peoples, adding that Vietnam will forever be in debt to Cuba for its unwavering support during the past struggle for national independence.
For her part, Lazara shared Hai’s views on the traditional ties that bind the two nations, saying each Cuban citizen considers nurturing friendship and cooperative ties with Vietnam an important task.
The Cuban delegation’s visit to Vietnam aims to further promote bilateral cooperative ties Lazara said, and to learn of Vietnam’s experiences in its national construction and socio-economic development process.
Vietnam’s experience, particularly about socio-economic development and Party building, is very useful for Cuba in devising and implementing a new economic growth model for the country.
During their stay in HCM City, the Cuban delegation visited some cultural relic sites and economic zones.
