(VOV) – Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) will broadcast live a special dialogue on September 20 addressing the capacity of Vietnamese intellectuals to serve as a catalyst for reform in the country.
The show will feature discussions between Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam History Science Association with young intellectuals.
They are scheduled for airing at 9.30am on News and Current Affairs Channel (VOV1).
The event is part of activities celebrating the VFF Central Committee’s 8th Congress taking place in Hanoi from September 25-29.
At present, Vietnam has about five about 5 million intellectuals, accounting for nearly 12% of the country’s total labour force. They have been taking the lead in a wide ranging of fields from science-technology to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
