PANO – The Border Guard Command and the Institute for Defense Strategy, on September 24th, held a scientific workshop themed “Border guard soldiers and the stability, integration and development to meet the requirements of the construction, management and protection of national border in the new context.” Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, attended the event.
At the workshop, Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, Commander of the Border Guard, stressed the significance of building a border for peace and stability in socio-economic development, and the pivotal role of the border guard in protecting the territorial integrity and national border and waters.
In the new period, ever-increasingly higher requirements have been posed to the construction, management and protection of the national border, requiring a strategic vision in the building of a strong and developed border guard force to fulfill the assigned missions.
Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong emphasized that the border guard should strengthen experience exchange and coordination with other agencies and units to successfully implement the political tasks assigned by the Party, State, Army and people, firmly safeguarding national sovereignty, security and border in any circumstances.
At the workshop, contents and solutions are also on the agenda in order to build a border guard force with stability, integration and development.
