(CPV) – The Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh city on October 27 announced the results of the “Explore Canada from A to Z” competition 2014 following the two exciting essay writing and video clip production rounds.First prize: The winner in Vietnam, Ms. Mai Dieu Quynh, Viet Duc high school (Hanoi), will be awarded a three-week Canada study tour in English or French (includes tuition fee, transportation, accommodation, and meals.) While Ms. Pham Phuong Thuy Linh, R.A. McMath school (Richmond, British Columbia) is the winner in Canada, will recieve a scholarship of CAD2,000 and an internship opportunity in Vietnam in summer 2015. Second prize: The winner in Vietnam, Ms. Dang Thi Thao Ngoc, Tran Phu high school for the gifted (Hai Phong city) will get a two-week Canada study tour in English or French (includes tuition fee, transportation, accommodation, and meals.) The winner in Canada, Mr. Luan Phuoc Hoa, Mohawk college (Hamilton, Ontario) will be awarded a scholarship of CAD1,000. Third prize: The winner in Vietnam is Mr. Le Tien Dung, Cao Ba Quat high school (Hanoi), who will enjoy a one-week Canada study tour in English or French (includes tuition fee, transportation, accommodation, and meals). And the winner in Canada, Ms. Truong Nguyen Minh Tran, university of Ottawa (Ontario), will pocket a scholarship of CAD500. Besides, consolation prize winners, each receiving an award of CAD200, are Ms. Chu Ngoc Thao from Gia Dinh high school (Ho Chi Minh city), Mr. Pham Minh Thuc from LaSalle college (Québec), Ms. Phan Hoang Lan from McGill university (Québec), and Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong from Nguyen Thi Minh Khai high school (Ho Chi Minh city). Running from August 27 to October 5, the 2nd edition of the competition lured the participation of close to 400 Vietnamese students studying in both Vietnam and Canada. They were eager to learn about, explore and experience Canada, and work together to produce very creative video clips./. |
