On 19 November, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Van Minh visited and awarded 120 million VND to Miss. Dinh Thi Thiet, 31 years old, teacher of Son Lien primary school.
Accordingly, teacher Thiet will receive 5 million VND/month in 2 years. This is a gift funded by Mrs. Hoa Lam, a businessman living in Ho Chi Minh City.
Thiet has worked at Tu Mit primary school branch, Dak Da hamlet, Son Lien commune since 2011.
Seeing the difficult and underprivileged circumstances of these pupils, teacher Thiet has so far used her monthly salary to feed more than ten pupils.
During the school year of 2014-2015, she also took care of 4 Ca dong ethnic pupils.
Mr. Minh said, “Thiet’s act is very emotional, meaningful, and humane; the live example should be encouraged to replicate in the community”.
