VietNamNet Bridge – Nguyen Thi Loan left Hanoi for the UK on November 20 to represent Vietnam at the Miss World 2014 pageant to be held in London from November 22 to December 14.
Born in Thai Binh province, Loan won the title Miss Sea 2012 and was in the top five of the Miss Vietnam pageant in 2010. She also was second runner-up at the Miss Ethnic Vietnam beauty contest in 2013.
The 24-year-old studied at the Hanoi University of Trade. She is 1.76 meters tall and weighs 58 kg, with body measurements of 90-63-93.
Loan had prepared in every way possible for the beauty pageant. All of her clothes, including casual and party dresses, Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) and evening gowns to be worn at the pageant were prepared by Vietnamese designers Le Thanh Hoa, Vo Viet Chung and Vu Viet Ha.
After arriving in London, Loan joined other contestants in Dance of the World which required them to perform their traditional dances in 30-40 seconds.
She is now preparing for a clip profile and the talent qualifying round. In this part, Loan will make a sand painting telling about her love for her mother.
The final night of Miss World 2014 pageant is scheduled for December 14, and is expected to draw in more than 2 billion TV viewers.
