| On 30-31 October 2014, at the invitation of the Shanghai MunicipalPeople’sGovernment and theWorld CouncilonCity Data (WCCD), the delegation of Haiphong city led by Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh attended the “Global Cities Forum” in Shanghai, China.
Meeting and working with Professor Patricia McCarney, Chairman of WCCD and Professor Nico Tillie, City of Rotterdam, the Netherlands and the University of Dell (Netherlands), Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Binh introduced some information of Hai Phong, shared the interest and responsibility taken by city’s leaders in implementing activities and objectives of WCCD and the connection network of the world’s cities. He hoped that in the coming time, the cooperation and support of this organization and the member cities, including Hai Phong will be more tightened and practical, contributing to the construction and development of each city. On its part, Hai Phong city is willing to share information and making responsible contributions to joint activities.Professor Patricia McCarney highly appreciated Hai Phong for the participation of its high-level delegation in the conference and share of valuable experiences in the city’s process of construction and development, especially in the roadmap of building Haiphong into a green, civilized, modern and sustainable sea port city. Representative of Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai also attended the activities. |
