The Ministry of Finance has told dairy companies and manufacturers to cut prices, as some costs, including raw materials and transportation, have fallen.
The ministry also told them to clearly print the price of wholesale and retail dairy products for children under six years old. The prices of many dairy products in EU and Australian markets have fallen, but prices in Viet Nam have stayed the same.
Before the decision, the ministry ordered transport companies to reduce transportation fees.

City to set up new drug rehab centre
HCM City has proposed creating a pilot centre to help rehabilitate people with drug addictions. Under the proposal, some drug addicts would have to go to a detoxification centre under a court order.
The number of drug addicts and rehabilitated addicts is over 19,000, up by over 33 per cent year-on-year. However, no one has ever been forced to go to a rehabilitation centre.

Lao youth study at VN university
The central province of Ha Tinh’s Education and Training Department announced that 650 students from Laos began studying at Ha Tinh University late last week.
The university has more students from Laos than any other Vietnamese province, with about 1,400 students from 10 provinces of Laos.
This is a part of a co-operation programme between the university and Laos. Along with the ministry’s programme, the university has also increased the number of Vietnamese-language classes.

The Ministry of Transport has asked the Ministry of Public Security to examine and punish overloaded trucks outside ports in HCM City.
