PANO – The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and the Nam Dinh Museum on November 7th in Hanoi opened an exhibition on old Vietnamese lion and lion-like animal sculptures.
The lion-like animal is a fictional creature with lion-like head, long tail and dog-like body.
On display are many objects under Ly, Tran, Post-Le, Nguyen dynasties, which are made of different materials of stone, pottery, wood, copper and glazed terra-cotta.
The ten-day exhibition also includes an interactive educational program for school students in order to promote national arts heritage values.
The exhibition targets to popularize typical values of the national arts heritage treasure to locals and international visitors, and raise the public’s aesthetics to avoid exploiting unsuitable symbols, products and sacred objects. This activity is also towards the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23rd.
