Delegates said Russia has a certain position in global education. Over the last 6 decades, Russia has trained tens of thousands of Vietnamese scientists, managers, experts, and skilled workers. Professor Tran Dinh Long, Vice President of the Vietnamese-Russian Friendship Association, says: “75% of people of my generation who graduated in Russia have become leaders. It’s our pride which we should promote for our younger generation. We are concerned about how to encourage young people learn Russian and Russia’s advanced technology to be applied in Vietnam. Vietnamese universities should have policies designed to absorb Russian knowledge.

Approximately 7,000 Vietnamese students are studying in Russian universities. Following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Vietnam last November, both countries have agreed to enhance education cooperation including sending 1,000 Vietnamese students to Russia annually.
