It has been announced by the provincial Red Cross at the conference of reviewing its operation in 2014 and deploying tasks for 2015 held on December 18.
Reportedly, in 2014, the Red Cross at all levels in the province implemented well activities about humanitarian, charity, community health care and ensuring social security.
A lot of activities have been organized such as disaster prevention and response, emergency relief and humanitarian assistance worth over VND 32 billion.
Besides, the Red Cross at all levels in collaboration with the medical stations provided free health check-up and medicines to nearly 2,000 poor people in coastal communes and offered 100 medicine cabinets to Ly Son island’s fishermen.
Besides, the Provincial Red Cross has offered around 27,000 Tet gifts to policy families, difficult households, and victims of Agent Orange; over VND 03 billion to people who were affected by floods and storms; and 06 cows to households in difficult circumstances.
In the upcoming time, the Red Cross at all levels in the province continue to innovate and improve quality and efficiency; to mobilize local people to participate in advocacy and education about health, sanitation and disease prevention; and to promote movements such as health care for people, blood donation campaign, etc.
At this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross awarded Certificate of Merit to 14 collectives and 17 individuals for their great achievements in 2014.
