Exchange gathers former military medics

PANO – The Vietnam Military Medical University on December 16th opened an exchange with historical witnesses and the academy’s lecturers who had made contributions to the establishment and development of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) over the past 70 years.

At the event in celebration of the 70th VPA’s founding anniversary and 25th anniversary of Whole People’s Defence Day, the participants together recalled the history and glorious tradition of the nation, the fine virtues, traditions and feats of arms of Vietnamese troops and people in general and military medical personnel in particular over the past 70 years. They affirmed that the fierceness of the war could not break the iron will of Vietnam, its people and its heroic army.


Through stories told by the historical witnesses, the university’s young generation learned deeply about the contributions and sacrifices of military medics in wartime. They had bravely treated and transported wounded soldiers, gave first aid to the wounded in the battlefield, and provided medicines and medical facilities for campaigns, making contribution to the success of the war for national salvation at the risk of their own lives. Recorded feats of arms of the forces in wartime resulted from the unity, determination and creativeness of military medical staff.


Also at the event, veteran cadres asked young generation to promote studying to raise their medical skills and professionalism to meet the requirements of mission in the renewal process. Each person should enrich their medical ethics to become a good and professional doctors and nurses, deserving to the force’s magnanimous tradition built by former generations.
