Four senior officers promoted to Sr. Lt. Gen.

PANO – President Truong Tan Sang on December 19th hosted a ceremony announcing the decisions on promotions from Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General of four high-ranking officers of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).

The newly-promoted officers are member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the VPA Pham Xuan Hung; PCC member, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics Luong Cuong; PCC member, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics Mai Quang Phan and PCC member, Director of the National Defence Academy Vo Tien Trung.


On behalf of the Party’s and the State’s leaders, the President congratulated the senior officers on their promotions. Sang emphasized that the promotion is in recognition of their efforts and self-improvement and great contributions to the cause of national construction and protection.


The President wished each promoted officer keep making contribution, further studying and better fulfilling their missions, and be active in providing good consultancy to the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence on suitable policies to help build the army strong in politics, ideology and organization with high combat strength and become a core force and reliable support of the Party, the State and the people in the cause of national construction and protection.
