PANO – Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff on the afternoon of the December 18th received a border guard delegation of the Chengdu Military Region of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the specialist delegation of the Laos People’s Army.
The border guard delegation led by Lieutenant General Shi Xiang Yuan, Deputy Commander of Chengdu Military Region, paid a courtesy call to Vietnam Ministry of National Defence during its visit to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan reviewed the fine defence cooperation between Vietnam and China in recent years, laying stress on the important contributions of the border forces and military units stationed in the border areas. The general proposed that the border forces of the two militaries continue to promote the results achieved while enhancing exchange and twinning activities to actively support people in the border areas in doing business and improving living standards, contributing to building the borderline of peace, stability, friendship and development.
* The same day, in Hanoi, Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan welcomed a specialist delegation led by Lieutenant General Khamsi Vongkhamsao, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Laos National Defence Ministry. The delegation is on a working visit to Vietnam. As informed by Lieutenant General Khamsi Vongkhamsao, in the visit to Vietnam this time, the delegation worked with the specialists of Vietnam Ministry of National Defence to review and evaluate the results of cooperation between the two ministries in the period 2010-2014 in general and in 2014 in particular and discuss future cooperation.
