Hagupit has complicated proceedings with many groups of forecasts. It is predicted that the storm will enter the East Sea on the December 8 night and December 9, making itself the fifth storm to hit Vietnamese waters this year.
The storm is predicted to cause heavy rains, with the rainfall estimated at 300-400mm, once habouring the South Central localities.
At the meeting, Deputy PM Hai asked localities to be ready for any situations of Hagupit, closely follow the typhoon’s proceedings, promptly review the reservoir safety and be willing to evacuate residents from the areas prone to flash floods and landslides in case of bad situations.
The focal task discussed at the meeting was to urgently call on vessels operating on sea to get out of the dangerous areas ranged between 10-17 degrees latitude as of 5pm tomorrow.
