The 1,000-bed hospital in Binh Chanh District covering an area of 125,000 square meter with total investment of VND4.500 trillion (US$210,624,853) is an environmentally friendly building with advanced equipment, said Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee.

As designed, the hospital will have a basement, a garbage disposal area, a wastewater treatment facility, a transformer station, and some other subsidiary works.

It will also have spacious parking lots for cars and motorbikes, a playground for children, and a helicopter pad – for use in emergency reception or transfer of patients from and to remote areas.

Director Binh said that the sector has prepared for the new hospital. It has trained more students at Pham Ngoc Thach Medicine School. In addition, the Department of Health will send more good doctors and nurses from Pediatrics Hospital No. 1 and 2 to the new hospital.

The new hospital is expected to help improve treatment quality and reduce pressure on the two available hospitals.
