Addressing the opening session, the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Ngo Thi Doan Thanh stressed that 11th Session takes place when the 8th Session of the National Assembly XIII has successfully just wrapped up, with many important issues highly appreciated. Party, government and people of the Capital with pride to the achievements of the capital after 60 years’ liberation, 15 years the city was honored for peace, struggling with mental determination to implement victory tasks of socio-economic indicators, national security, fiscal 2014 and the 5-year plan of 2011-2015.
Besides the results achieved, City Council Chairman also pointed out some weaknesses such as: Economy has recovered but slowly, many difficulties in progress and quality of construction of a number of key projects forward, management food safety, environmental protection, fire prevention, there exists so many limitations in management, leadership, lack of initiativeness and creativity.
According to the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council, 11th session has important implications, is an opportunity for us to assess the overall situation of economic – social tasks, defense, security and other aspects of work in 2014; identifying major tasks in 2015, the last year of the 5-year plan of 2010-2015. “We have the responsibility to thoroughly analyze and summarize the experience or, the success achieved, indicating weaknesses, defects and causes, especially the subjective causes of the limitations and weaknesses; find effective solutions, feasibility of directing, operating and implementation “- City Council Chairman stressed.
