A report on the Government portal at chinhphu.vn says the Ministry of Industry is tasked with closely monitoring market movements, especially prices of necessities, in order to timely take measures to cope with any signs of volatility.

Smooth goods circulation, from production to consumption, must be ensured, according to the Government leader. The Ministry of Industry and Trade should find ways to facilitate enterprises’ expansion of networks, participation in the price stabilization program, and storage of necessities to supply consumers at acceptable prices.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is told to arrange bazaars in remote and disaster-prone areas ahead of and during Tet, combine the price stabilization program with other trade promotions and supply local products in rural areas.

Relevant agencies must also conduct inspections to stabilize the market and prevent the trading and transportation of counterfeit, substandard products, and those having unclear origins or failing to meet food safety and hygiene requirements.

Authorities should take actions to prevent acts of speculation and fraud, and the dissemination of inaccurate information that might distort the market.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance is assigned to closely control prices of goods included in the national reserves, purchased with the State budget and those whose prices are subsidized by the State, and products belonging to the price stabilization program.

The central bank should flexibly, consistently and effectively take monetary policy tools, monitor growth of money supply and credit growth, instruct banks to guarantee sufficient cash before and after Tet, and make sure automated teller machines (ATM) are in good condition.

In addition, the central bank should seek to stabilize the exchange rate and gold price; tighten supervision of foreign currency and gold trading; enhance management of operations of credit institutions; and control bad debt.

The Ministry of Transport is assigned to tell agencies and enterprises to prepare transport plans to well meet travel demand, and map out contingency plans to cope with traffic jams in big cities and carry out rescue operations.

Besides, the Ministry of Transport will have to inspect the quality and technical safety of vehicles, with automobiles failing to meet technical safety requirements banned from the road.

The Prime Minister asks the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to ensure normal agricultural production, especially of foodstuffs, to supply enough products for people during the holiday.
