The People’s Committee of Tuy Hoa city has just summed up the agricultural production in 2014 and deployed the tasks for 2015. Accordingly, in 2014, the rice production area in the city was 4,242ha, reaching the average yield of 74.8 kg/ha/crop, with the production of 31,175 tons, 106.2% higher than planned and increasing 3.3% compared with 2013.
For the 2014-2015 winter-spring crop, Tuy Hoa city sows 2,042ha. The seeding time is from December 20th to January 10th, 2015. For the rice area of low-lying areas in ward 9, Phu Lam ward, Phu Thanh ward and the communes of Binh Kien, Hoa Kien, farmers carry out seeding in the late of the crop calendar. Other areas quickly sow, concentrating on every region, depending on the growth duration of each type of seed and specific conditions in order to arrange sowing suitable seed of rice for rice-flowering after Kinh Trap time (March 5th, 2015). The Economics Division of Tuy Hoa city recommended, from now till seeding time, cooperatives need to early implement land preparation, field sanitation, asking peasants to kill rats, collecting yellow snails and their eggs, eliminating germ pests in parallel with ncreasing soil fertility.
