As many as the world's leading enterprises surveyed investment environment in Quang Ngai province in 2014
Two FDI projects worth over 200 million US$ will be granted investment certifications in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai Province by the end of December 2014, a source from Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee said.
They are projects of building a pulp mill -co-invested by JK (India) and Sojitzs (Japan) at an investment of 180 million US$ in Dung Quat site and Liwayway Food Processing Plant worth over 20 million US$ to locate in VSIP – Quang Ngai.
Earlier, three FDI projects were licensed in terms of producing textiles, components of industrial machineries, and footwear. They have been under hi-speed of construction in VSIP – Quang Ngai and are expected to start production by the end of this year.
The would-be-licensed projects will bring the total FDI projects granted investment certification in in 2014 up to 5 with total investment of nearly 230 million US$, a year on year increase of 80% .
Implemented capital of FDI projects in 2014 touched 81.6 million US$, fulfilling 129 % of the plan set forth for the year and a three-fold increase compared with that previous year.
Of which, about 70 million US$ implemented capital was recorded from as many as licensed projects in VSIP-Quang Ngai.
According to Mr. Pham Nhu So – Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People’sCommittee – Cum Head of Dung Quat Economic Zone Authority (DEZA), the investment attraction in 2014 have been more significant than that in 2013.
As many as international large-scale enterprises surveyed investment environment in this central province, particularly Dung Quat Economic Zone.
They were JK (India), Sojitz (Japan), Sembcorp (Singapore), Exxon Mobile, Hannes Brand (America) STF (Italia), VIJAGAS (Japan), ect..
Some of them concerned on investment opportunities in thermal power, electricity, gas, pulp mill, and so on.
To sum up, including the five-aforesaid FDI projects in 2014, Quang Ngai has so far lured 30 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 524.58 million USD that create job opportunities for over 8,700 workers in Quang Ngai province.
