Vietnam defeats 2-1 against Malaysia in AFF semi-final first leg

Vietnamese men’s football team defeated Malaysia with an impressive 2-1 AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final first leg at Malaysia’s Shah Alam Sport Stadiumyesterday.


More than 80,000 football supporters, including 5,000 Vietnamese fans attended in Shah Alam stadium to encourage for two teams.


In the first match’s the 14th minute, Safiq did not miss the chance to take the first goal for Malaysia.


Football player Huy Toan held Vietnam team to equalize 1-1 in the 34th minute after receiving a ball from a shot of Van Quyet.

Entering the second match, students of Japanese coach Miura continued to attack Malaysian goalkeeper. By the 60th minute, Mac Hong Quan quickly passed a good ball at 16, 50 meters for Van Quyet, and he leaved defenders behind to defeat Malaysia’s goalkeeper.


Ending the match, Vietnam won 2- 1 against Malaysia. With the result, Vietnam football team had the advantages in the semi-final second leg at My Dinh National Sport Stadium in the evening of December 11.


In the semi-final second leg, Thailand will face Philippines at 7 pm on December 10 while Vietnam will meet Malaysia one more time at 7 pm.
