Vietnam’s pump prices plunge to 4-year low amid global dip

Vietnam’s retail gasoline prices on Monday fell to a four-year low as fuel traders cut prices for the twelfth times in a row since July, following the global downward trend.

The price of 92-RON gasoline, the most commonly used fuel in Vietnam, went down by VND2,050, or 10 percent, at VND17,880 (US$0.84) per liter, effective 3 pm Monday.


The diesel price was slashed by 8 percent to VND16,990 per liter. Kerosene now retails at VND17,400 per liter, down 8 percent from earlier.


The price of 92-RON gasoline in Singapore, Vietnam’s major supplier, on Friday fell to $65 a barrel.
