VGP – The eighth negotiation round of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Viet Nam and the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia was basically completed. Technical issues will be soon dealt with to sign the Agreement in early 2015.
The event was co-chaired by the Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang and the Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrey Slepnev in Phu Quoc Island in the southern province of Kien Giang from December 8-14.
Six negotiation groups joined the negotiation rounds, dealing with trade in goods, trade in services, investment, and personal movement, rule of origin, trade remedy, customs cooperation, trade facilitation and legal and institutional issues.
They signed an announcement on the basic conclusion of the negotiation and continue enhancement of internal consultation and exchanges to ink the FTA in early 2015.
