– To Huy Rua, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and Head of the CPVCC’s Commission for Organization proposed at a Tuesday meeting that the commission’s officials be banned from meeting potential personnel or appointees.

– The Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute held an urgent meeting on Tuesday with the Health Department of southern Vietnam’s Binh Duong Province regarding measures to deal with a rubella outbreak and prevent it from spreading to local industrial parks. As of Tuesday, 151 workers, including two pregnant women, of Wanek Co., based in the province’s Ben Cat town, have developed fevers. 20 out of 29 samples are found to be rubella positive.


– The Transport Department in the Central Province of Lam Dong on Tuesday began erecting speed limit signs to be applied for double-decked sleeper buses.


– The HCMC Department of Information and Communications on Tuesday convened a meeting with local mobile service providers and competent agencies to work out measures to eradicate spam, fraudulent text messages and tighten management of information security.


– A truck on Tuesday evening slammed into seven houses in Tinh Bien District in the Mekong Delta Province of An Giang. The accident killed at least one person, injured four others and smashed three houses while partially damaging four remaining ones.


– According to Dr. Bui Huy Son, head of 115 Emergency Center in the central city of Hai Phong, his center has suspended a medical staffer for failing to perform emergency procedures properly on a seven-month pregnant woman, who fell victim to a fatal accident on Monday morning. When the ambulance and the paramedics arrived, the victim, who was presumed dead, was covered with a mat. The team left immediately without checking on the victim.

– Despite multiple petrol price cuts of up to 38.5% since mid 2014, local taxi firms have applied limited drop on their fares.


– Dang Ngoc Tuyen, vice chief inspector of the Ministry of Finance announced three teams will inspect fare rates fixed by over 40 taxi and passenger transport firms in five cities and provinces, Hanoi, Da Nang, HCMC, Binh Duong and Dong Nai starting Wednesday.
