During the last fortnight, “thai bai” fish appear in thick density in coastal ward 6, in the North Da Dien estuary, Tuy Hoa city. In the morning, dozens of athletic youth hold the nets, struggling with the waves to skim “thai bai” fish in the ocean waves. When the net is pulled up, just a hand of the tiny white fish still mixed with sand, many women on the shore remove sand from the handful fish and sell at the market. After the catching, each household collects more than 1kg of fish, selling at the price of VND 250,000 at place. “Thai bai” fish, another name being “xa bai” or “cha bai”, which is cooked the vegetable-soup dish or fried with egg are very nutritious food.
